Cruising Area

The well sheltered Bay of Luebeck provides excellent sailing conditions with limited chop and a variety of ports for the night. Grossenbrode, the Island of Fehmarn, Kuehlungsborn and Warnemuende are easily reached in a half, a three quarter or a full day sailing in case of common west wind conditions.

Near Travemuende there is the charming little fishing village Niendorf, next comes the port of Neustadt, the fancy Groemitz Marina as well as the waters around Wismar with comfortable occasions to stay at anchor for the night.

The Island of Poel has plenty choices, the brand new marina Weisse Wiek just opposite provides a high standard, the fairly new marina of Kuehlungsborn, the old river of Warnemuende or the recently opened marina Hohe Duene offer an interesting mix of occasions to stay overnight - either close to nature or with up to date marina facilities.

The archipelago of southern Denmark is approachable in two days from Travemuende. Under normal weather conditions the Schlei or Firth of Flensburg are reached within three days. Copenhagen, the charming Oeresund and the southern shores of Sweden are just three comfortable sailing days away. The Island of Hiddensee and Ruegen with sheltered waters and the beautiful town of Stralsund are reached in two days.

The boat is maintained and sailed by a permanent crew from northern germany. This makes it easy to transfer the boat to your preferred port of embarcation. You can conveniantly enter or disembark i.e. in Flensburg, Schleswig, any port in Denmark with regular ferry connections (there are plenty in the summer months, even to small ports), Copenhagen, southern Sweden or Stralsund. At the end of your cruise you head back home fully relaxed by ferry, train or plane.

Booking the charter with sufficient lead time (preferrably in the winter ahead of the considered cruise), you are even able to sail to Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo, Risoer or explore the beautiful waters of Limfjord in northern Denmark.
