Swede 55 is Hamburg owned. She is maintained and sailed by a permanent crew of ten to twelve people. The owner/skipper boasts of 30 years of trouble-free seamanship and has been the skipper on many charters since 1987. An experienced and relaxed yachtsman in his late forties who enjoys making practiced sailors from enthusiastic novices.
The typical charters are colleagues or business partners, a group of friends from the university or organized clubs, two couples or families ready for a unique sailing experience aboard this fascinating yacht. Yachting weekends and vacations are a good choice for nature loving people who want a special holiday at reasonable cost.
Charter the Swede 55 for an extended weekend of relaxed cruising on the Bay of Luebeck outside Travemuende (arrangement from Friday evening thru Sunday afternoon).
The boat is available for a weekend, three, five, seven or more days. One way cruises to Denmark (Copenhagen) or Sweden (Gothenburg/Stockholm) are possible when booked well in advance.
The standard of living aboard matches the elegance of this well maintainced classy ocean racer. Though there are seven bunks below deck, no more than five are occupied during the cruise, which adds to the luxury of the experience. On a ten to fourteen day cruise, a crew of four people is ideal for Swede 55. Please note the boat is only available with an experienced skipper.
The skipper has extensive Swede 55 knowledge, the best harbors and anchorages, ports, facilities and safe cruising areas. He will accompany you as accomplished nautical consultant and will bring you and the boat safely to the next harbor, even under serious weather conditions. Ideal time for sailing the Baltic Sea is in the summer from mid May/June thru September. Make your plans to come and send an email with your ideas.
Where To Start
Travemuende, seaside resort and port of Luebeck (and partly Hamburg) is the customary boarding point. Kiel, Schlei, Southern Denmark (the archipelago) and sail to Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Oslo (or reversed order) when booked with sufficient lead time. For the nature minded sailor the former East German waters are nice cruising areas. The regular crew would transfer Swede 55 to your designated boarding point for one way cruises.

Extra Costs
The Charterguests share the expense of the boat costs i.e. fuel, propane, electricity, water, and on-board food. The boat costs are based on the accumulated engine hours, which are marginal. The Guests also share the berthing fee expenses which are based on the nights spent in port and expenses for food and drinks ashore.
Preparations
Sailing preparations are done for you by the skipper. Your advantage is to enter a clean, fuelled and ready to sail yacht with all catered items as ordered in advance. Simple complete the catered list you obtained from Swedesail and return it several days prior to the sailing date and come aboard.
You will also get suggestions that you may want to have on board with the booking papers. Musto offers high quality Goretex sailing cloths. If you would like to have your own automatic life raft (by Kadematic), you are welcome to order it and have it aboard to the departure date.
